Back In the Saddle - Gym
My first day back at the student gym today was a real eye opener! I am now a pathetic 155 pounds – official on the gym scale. All my large muscles in my thighs are gone and are replaced with ‘runner’ style mini-muscle. I literally look like I have no legs at all anymore. My upper body is built with six pack abs and a bony chest. The size of the average guy in the gym made me feel like crap as I no longer look like a body builder. I have come a long way since last July’s weigh in at 212 pounds. The only bright side of this whole story is my BMI is back to normal at 24.5. My old BMI of 31 had my doctor shaking his head at me. I walked around the gym in sort of a daze asking the weight room attendant where things were because all the equipment is brand new, first time in more than ten years that everything works. My final feat of the day was to get on a treadmill with a touch screen and run a mile in 7m12s. Since I started running outside in January 5th I was always curious as to how fast I was sprinting up to and apparently its over 9 miles per hour. I had no idea I could run that fast and by comparison the treadmill was 100 percent easier to run on than the street and no dogs to chase me either?
